The society's board.

The board was elected at the founding general assembly on 29 July 2026. It takes care of the society's daily affairs, finances and outward representation, so the Sangha and the teachers can concentrate on what they are here for.

Julie Ann-Lie Kjærgaard, chair. Julie drives the society's contact with the teachers in the network and organises the society's first retreat with Ajahn Nitho.

Jesper Richard Kjærgaard, treasurer. Jesper looks after the society's finances and accounts, and the website.

The board can be reached at buddhistforening@gmail.com.

Signing authority and the general assembly.

The society is signed for by the chair together with one other board member; no one can sign alone on the society's behalf. That, and the rest of the rules, are in the statutes.

The general assembly is the society's highest authority and is held every year before the end of March. All members are invited directly with at least a month's notice, and proposals can be sent to the board until two weeks before. The first ordinary general assembly will be held by March 2027 at the latest.

Want to take part in the work?

The board is small and the tasks are many. The society will need hands for retreats, translation and communication, and in time a secretary and more board members. Members are given priority at elections, and after the society's first period a board seat as a rule requires 24 months of prior membership. So join now if you want to take responsibility down the road.
