Become a member.
The society is founded, and the door is open. As a member you help carry what is being built here: retreats with teachers from the network, teaching given freely, and in the longer term a place in Denmark where practice can live.
Membership is open to everyone over 18 who can accept the society's purpose and statutes. You don't need to call yourself a Buddhist; you just need to want this to exist.
What you get as a member.
- Priority at retreats and events. Members are offered places first when registration opens. Places on the society's retreats are few, so this is a real benefit.
- Voting rights at the general assembly. The general assembly is the society's highest authority: it elects the board, sets the fee and approves the accounts. Your membership gives you a voice.
- Eligibility for the board. Members are given priority at board elections.
- First to know. You are invited personally to the general assembly and hear first about retreat dates and new initiatives.
- Access to the society's resources for spiritual development as they grow: meditation evenings, study groups and materials.
- And most importantly: you support the purpose. Fees and donations go entirely to making the Buddha's teaching accessible in Denmark.

The form at the bottom of this page is your written application to the board. It takes a couple of minutes.
Confirm your email
You will immediately get an email with a link. Click it so we know the address works; that address is where everything will be sent.
Pay the fee
The society's bank account is being set up. You will get a payment link by email as soon as it is ready; there is nothing to pay today.
Welcome to the society
Membership runs from the day the fee is paid. From then on you can vote at the general assembly and have priority at retreats.

Practical details.
Fee. The fee is DKK 450 a year and is set by the general assembly. Membership is valid from the day the fee is paid, and there is only one kind of membership: everyone is equal.
Resigning. You can always resign by writing to buddhistforening@gmail.com. The resignation takes effect when we receive it. A membership cannot be transferred to another person.
Personal data. We store only what membership requires: name, email, phone and payment status. The details are used for assembly invitations, payment collection and member letters, and are never shared. Write to us if you want your details corrected or deleted.
