Giving is part of the practice.
This tradition has always been carried by dāna, freely given generosity. Monks and nuns take no payment for teaching; what they give freely is carried by people who freely give back. That is how it has worked for 2,500 years, and it is how the society works too.
Donations to The Danish Buddhist Society go entirely to the purpose: making the Buddha's teaching accessible in Denmark. Concretely that means retreats and teaching, support for visiting teachers, and in time the building up of facilities where practice can live: a retreat centre and, in the long run, monasteries for monks and nuns.
Every gift, large or small, makes a difference. And no part of the society's work requires giving: teaching is free, and no one is turned away for lack of means.

The society's account at Fynske Bank is being set up. After that we will open for MobilePay and bank transfer, and later card payment (Visa and Mastercard). Until then you can make a pledge below, and we will send you the payment options as soon as they exist.

How the money is managed.
The society is non-profit and non-commercial. Nobody owns it, and neither assets nor property can pass to members or any private person. The statutes require that spending be careful, moderate and frugal, that accounts be kept under Danish law, and that the annual accounts be approved by the general assembly.
Gifts given for a specific purpose are used for exactly that purpose. If you want your donation to go to something particular, say so in the message field or in an email to buddhistforening@gmail.com.
