Ajahn Brahmali


Norwegian-born monk at Bodhinyana, with master's degrees in engineering and finance. He began monastic training at Amaravati and Cittaviveka in the UK before becoming a student of Ajahn Brahm in Australia. He played a central role in the 2009 bhikkhuni ordinations.

He teaches Pāli and Vinaya at Bodhinyana and Dhammasara, and travels regularly to Norway and the UK to teach. He received an honorary doctorate from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok for his translation of the Vinaya. With Bhante Sujato he is the co-author of The Authenticity of the Early Buddhist Texts.

He speaks Norwegian, and his series Tidlig buddhisme at DNBF is a rare and valuable resource in a Scandinavian language.
